Everything You Need to Know About Man United:

Our favorite club's name wasn't always Manchester United. It was created in 1878. under the name of Newton Heath LYR (LYR stands for a rail company that Man Utd was first created by) until 1902. and moved to our current stadium - Old Trafford (75000 seats) in 1910

In January of 1902 Man Utd got in depts and the captain at the time found 4 local businessman who helped United get out of their depts and eventually in April that year they changed the name to what it is today.

Our team at that time wasn't very strong until the great Matt Busby came as a manager in 1945. He led the "Busby babes" to better results as we won the First devision five times, FA Cup twice and European cup once. Under Sir Matt Busby, we even became the first English team to compete in the European cup. During Busby's years, the club's record win was set as we beat Anderlecht 10-0.

The Munich Air Disaster (1958):
As the Busby Babes were on their way back home from a win against Red Star Belgrade in the European cup, the plane carrying the Man United players and staff crashed while trying to take off after a refuelling in Munich, Germany. The disaster happened on 6th February 1958 and claimed 23 lives, including 8 players (G. Bent, R. Byrne, E. Colman, D. Edwards, M. Jones, D. Pegg, T. Taylor and B. Whelan, a few more injured).
After winning the Champions league that same year, Real Madrid asked for the trophy to be awarded to Man United after the disaster. Also, Liverpool offered 5 of their players to United after the disaster, while also offering to pay their wages. Busby rebuilt the team through the 1960s, and United soon became the first English cub to win the European cup.

After Busby, a couple of less influential managers took charge of United, such as Dave Sexton and Ron Atkinson, with Bryan Robson becoming the longest standing captain of Manchester United - he has been the captain for 12 years.

In 1986 Sir Alex Ferguson arrived as a manager to Manchester United, and he came on a mission to "Knock Liverpool right off their fucking perch". In next 26 years he went on to accomplish the great mission by winning 20 league titles (also 5 FA Cups and 10 Community shields), while Liverpool have 18 league titles. In the 1998/1999 season Manchester United under Ferguson won their first treble by winning the Premier league, FA Cup and Champions League. During Fergie's era, Ryan Giggs became the most appeared player of Man United (963).
Ferguson announced that he would retire at the end of the season in May 2013.
After Ferguson David Moyes was appointed as a manager, failing to continue Fergie's success he was sacked after 10 months, After him came Louis Van Gaal who is not much better than Moyes, continuing to fail in keeping the Manchester United spirit up.

Currently, the owners of the club are the Glazer family (Avram and Joel), the club director and ambassador Sir Alex Ferguson, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, manager Lous Van Gaal and his assistant Ryan Giggs.

The fans of Manchester United are called the Red Devils (also the club's nickname) and count around 660 million follower worldwide.
The budget of Manchester United is estimated to be around 2.2 billion pounds.
